As I watch my children grow, I notice how things change so subtlety but then one day that old habit/routine is suddenly gone only to be replaced by new ‘grown up’ things your children grow into. This only makes me realise how quickly their childhood is flying past!
There’s just so much I want them to know/to do/to be prepared for! I find solace in my prayer for them. Especially in the early hours of the day, just before the crack of dawn, where I find my mind at it’s optimal level.
“The Lord descends every night to the lowest heaven when one-third of the night remains and says: ‘Who will call upon Me, that I may answer Him? Who will ask of Me, that I may give him? Who will seek My forgiveness that I may forgive him?’” (Bukhari, Muslim)
Allah wants us to supplicate to Him and tells us the best hour in which to do so. If you want something, really want something, then wake up for Tahajjud. Even ten minutes before fajr. This is for me to implement first and foremost but I hope you can take some wisdom from this too.
